MEET THE TEAM

While living in South Africa, I had the opportunity to work with a wedding planning company. At my first wedding, the lead planner looked at me and said, “You can’t screw this up. You’ll either thrive on this pressure or it will kill you and you’ll never last.” Safe to say, I left that wedding with the biggest adrenaline rush and happiest clients.

These were formative years, which allowed me to hone my craft, and understand what clients pain points really were and how I could best serve them. I planned anybody’s wedding who would let me.

My son was born and I knew this was my chance to finally leave corporate and do this full time. I registered my business and Madeline Hockley Weddings was born.

We moved further north so Madeline Hockley Weddings headed to Muskoka. With a toddler and baby, the nights were long but the business grew and the relationships and weddings in Muskoka were incredible.

Do I even want to write about this time period? Even thought the hospitality industry shut down, I refused to quit. We created intimate packages for couples to get married in Muskoka. We did many small weddings at cottages and private properties and became obsessed with intimate events.

After turning many inquiries away, year after year, I knew the next step in order to help and serve more people was to grow the team. Our reputation had been built, our back end processes were solid and it was time. I got a business coach and made my first hire.

These years were marked by growth both professionally and personally. We were able to expand into new regions and execute weddings in Barrie and all over Ontario.

We truly believe it’s an honour and privilege to be trusted with one's wedding day. The mission has never wavered and I’m more excited today about the work we get to do. So here’s to all the incredible couples we’ve served and the many more we can wait to impact.
